Only 1000 watches were made and this is number 40. Poljot International is a German company using the famous and reliable Russian p3133 hand-wind movement to power this watch. A very beautiful and reliable movement. This incredible piece of history is in like new condition. Watch comes with the exposition casebook installed so you can see the beautiful movement. The band is a replacement and is nearly new, its stitching highlighting the red appointments of the watch. The Russian wording at the top of the watch case translates to ” First Cosmonaut CCCP ” [USSR]. The Russian wording at the bottom of the watch case translates to ” Yuri Gargarin “. On the dial, the top translates to ” 108 minutes ” referring to the amount of time Gargarin, the first man in space, was in space, and the bottom of the dial finishes the phrase with ” in space “. The Russian on the left subdial translates to ” seconds counter ” and the right subdial translates to ” minutes counter “. Watch winds easily and functions flawlessly with the seconds and minutes chronograph hands resetting properly to the 12 o’clock position. Case diameter is 38mm with 20mm lugs. This limited edition, 50th anniversary watch was made in 2011, and yet looks brand new, though worn a few times. Act fast, this is a very rare watch and in near perfect condition!
